About 1 in 8 U.S. women (about 12%) will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime. As of January 2019, there are more than 3.1 million women with a history of breast cancer in the U.S. This includes women currently being treated and women who have finished treatment. The WWPBA is a strong supporter for Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October), not only for the serious statistics above, but for our own loved ones who battled hard to the end, or for those who are still battling.
